Historic date for Italy! On November 4th the signing of the armistice against the Austrian invader was celebrated but for Venice it was the day of “Acqua Granda”.
Thanks to Mose who “freed us” from this nightmare, this year we can dedicate the showcase to the historic victory in the First World War.
We thank Davide Ancilotto for lending us some items from his collection: a pair of parade helmets of the Austro-Hungarian army, an Austrian field theodolite and some guides in Italian for the training of the Royal Army in artillery shooting.
The Vascellari collection includes the cap of the 7th Alpine regiment of the Julia brigade and the first editions of the “Piccolo Alpino” and “The other war of the little alpine” written by Salvator Gotta.
